Finder assumed in a fight with another dog - but they noticed no muzzle/mouth bites but plenty of non-bleeding recent or healed torso and leg bites! Turned out this older beautiful scared pity was actually a lost adoptee; recently rescued from a farm as rehomed guard dog but surrendered to retire with 'Pit bulls for life'. Prev owners to farmer not found of course, so rescued twice with those preexisting scars when suspected to be used as bait stud! :(

Police at this detachment would do well to consider how the poor interactions they have with the public impacts their ability to do their jobs.

Go ahead and file a police report -- they sure as hell won't get back to you at all. Too busy at Timmies I guess.

Excellent with a found, injured dog at 3:45pm (15 mins before 4pm close on Sundays) two summer's ago. They let Finder know where taking to 24 hr clinic immediately and why, to determine assault vs explainable injuryies. Asked if finder cud come to clinic or return Monday by 6pm, and provide witness statement!

Extremely unimpressed by this department's officers.

Very helpful counter staff/officers and as this area is still quite new it wasn't busy. One never likes to have to report an accident, but if you have to--do it here!

Clinic did not charge rescue or female owner with well-being health check - and ACC just with Intake and reduced unlicensed 'at large' charge I think? Btw curiously Edm acc allowed the owner to apply part of the at-large penalty against buying a new license, wud they have allowed a male owner to do the same..? ;)

...not sure really, or maybe acc now rightfully makes us buy new licenses right there to identify whether 'problem dog's or 'houdini's who need options to improve situations, or is it escaping abusive or neglectful owners? One never knows, but they're referred to Humane Society to determine which reasoning is failing that dog- who will eventually be taken by traffic or predation without anyone noticing before hand that at-risk... :(
