We had a fun filled family afternoon seeing all the animals at the zoo. Didn't get to see the elephant because it was supposedly out for a walk so that was disappointing. It would have been good if they had a schedule time for the elephant' s walks and relate that schedule to visitors so a person could plan around it.

Went to their Christmas light festival/evening open. The atmosphere was really cool with the majority of exhibits open. They had a slide made out of ice for kids, Santa in the igloo and a reindeer information station.

There have been a lot of upgrades from when I remember coming as a kid. Great place for kids. It's not a huge zoo but still lots to see. My son and I took part in one of the zoo school for preschool programs and I was really impressed. They incorporated a lot of hands on learning which was really fun and the instructor was able to keep control of a room full of 3 year olds. A perk of taking the program is you could go into the zoo after class and explore on your own.

I prefer this zoo over Calgary. It feels more populated with animals for its size, where you see more exhibits for how far you walk. I’ve visited in both summer and winter, and although I do prefer it in the summertime, it was a very enjoyable experience in the winter. There were fewer people around, and they moved some of the cold-sensitive animals indoors. They even welcomed us into the seal enclosure to watch them being fed up close, which wouldn’t have been possible with the big crowds of the summer

Went to the zoo for the first time this past weekend. Enjoyed the exhibits. I can see that there is lots of construction in progress which can only mean bigger and better. I must admit that I was very sad to see the Zebra all alone. Zebras are social animals that are found in small harems or large heard. Is there not away to find that poor zebra a companion. It wouldn't even have to be another zebra. There are Many unusual pairs of friends in our animal world. I'm not sure of the process of making this happen. But it seems like it would be a humane thing to do. Looking forward to visiting agian in the spring when there is more exhibits open. Please help the zebra. I enjoyed my time.
